October 2020: Sam Smock | Shred415 Indy – Indianapolis, IN

October 14, 2020

I don’t have drugs to prevent this from coming back. I had the most aggressive type and grade of breast cancer and now I have my health! I come to Shred415 for prevention, I move for my daughters and husband, for my family and for my friends. This community has held me up and meant so much to me. “

Everyday, I am in awe of where I was in that chemo chair. It was an awful and devastating time. So many doctor appointments, chemo, complications, surgeries and scars. I can’t put that into words.

But I am so fortunate to be here, going to Shred415, and living another day.

I use that gratification to push through another 0.1 from time to time when I am on the treadmills. Anytime I want to quit, I remember there are so many people pushing through so much more and I have already conquered more difficult things than this. I run for me, but I run for them. For the people visiting doctors upon doctors and feeling like good news is never going to come again. For the person that just got their diagnosis and feels like your body is betraying you. For the person that gets to ring the chemo bell today, because you have overcome something so large.

This #Shredfam does so much more than workout.
