The health and safety of our #ShredFam is our number one priority. As Shred415 studios* reopen across the country, we are implementing changes to our operating procedures designed to ensure the safety of our Shredders and our community at large.
While we'll first look carefully to the guidance from state and local officials before reopening a Shred415 studio in your community, here are some of the changes you can expect to see at all independently-owned and operated studios when you arrive:
The staff at each studio will use commercial grade cleaning materials to disinfect the studio, lobby, bathrooms, and all shared-touch surfaces in between each and every class. Each and every Shred415 Support Staff Member, Manager, and Instructor at each independent studio is now part of our housekeeping team. The studio room will be closed during breaks to allow this team additional time to clean. Additionally, all studios will receive regularly scheduled deep cleans.
Class sizes will be reduced to conform with phased reopenings. You will be assigned a starting deck or treadmill.
The revised check-in process will be contactless and efficient. We ask that you arrive at the studio no more than five minutes before class starts and that you leave quickly after class ends. Our staff will maintain social distance while working to ensurethat foottraffic at the studio is at a minimum, and we'll have signs to help this process.
Some of the shared-touch amenities you're used to seeing at Shred415, like hair/shaving products, will be unavailable at this time. Touch base with your local Shred415 studio management team for more information.
All class formats will minimize the amount of transition within the studio from one space to the next. Equipment will be limited to weights only until further notice.
Our staff will undergo additional training detailing these new cleaning protocols and customer service procedures.
Shred415 staff members and instructors will undergo symptom screens before entering the studio.
We will constantly monitor current developments, and we will not hesitate to implement additional measures to maintain a safe environment.
There is a lot that is “new” in the new normal at Shred415, but there is also so much that is normal: a dimly-lit studio (with just a little more space), killer playlists, motivating instructors, and an incredible workout- it'll all be there for you when you come back to the studio for your first class. And so will the inspiring energy that permeates throughout the room during each and every Shred415 class. That's what we've missed the most: our community. It's been a minute, #ShredFam, but weare ready for you! So Deck First or Tread First?
As you're aware, all Shred415 studios temporarily closed starting the week of March 16th in an effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19, and as a result, we had to lay off about 95% of our workforce. Although the effects of the studio closures were devastating to our community, we are encouraged and overwhelmed by your support, and we would like to extend our sincerest thank you to each and every one of you for your support during this time. Whether that is an unfrozen membership, a gift card purchase, a like on Instagram, participating in an online workout or an email sharing your story, all of it is such a help and inspiration when we need it the most.
With your support, we were able to maintain most of our corporate team and our studio managers but at reduced salaries. In the midst of this tragedy, our owners are foregoing any compensation. We feel it's important to note that over the past 9 years, other than annual salaries, our owners have reinvested every dollar back into the growth of this business. We tell you that so you can understand that our top priority is to reopen and provide jobs to our amazing ShredFam.
To help in that regard, we have sent out several requests for support and help over the past few weeks and we wanted to provide you with some additional details about what it all means.
We originally asked for clients to unfreeze memberships or make purchases and your support has been amazing! Those funds are being used to support operational aspects of our business, like payroll for our retained staff, utilities and other business necessities that could not practically be deferred.
After asking for support with unfreezing memberships and additional purchases, we received a lot of responses from people that wanted to help but could not necessarily help in that way. Based on that, we created the Go Fund Me pages. Any funds raised by the Go Fund Me pages will go directly to our employees and instructors that we had to lay off. Your support in this regard has been inspiring and we can't wait to be able to provide some relief to those instructors and staff that make the Shred415 community truly incredible.
We are all going through this together and your support, not just monetary, is appreciated, welcome and needed during this crisis. We thank you again, and in return we will be here with great (virtual) workouts and a supportive community until we can meet on the decks and treads again soon
THANK YOU!
