Now 40 pounds lighter, Shred415 has helped me get my groove back.
The darkest corner that’s farthest away from civilization—that was “my spot” when I first started Shredding back in August 2015. My ending warm up pace was just 3.0.
I was the stereotypical unfit/unhealthy person. Low self-esteem. No confidence. I felt slow, unhappy, and defeated. I hated how I looked and was angry at what I’d become.
I hit the lowest point in my life when my doctor told me to go to a weight loss clinic. But I knew I wanted to try one more time before going to a clinic.
I was working with my friend (and fellow shredder), Katie Sheehan, and she told me about Shred415. Timing couldn’t have been more perfect. Cory Hebbeler had come on as a new instructor and was offering a free class. I seized the opportunity. The first class KICKED my butt. And I liked it.
Shredding became therapeutic and everything just clicked. It’s like when you find your “person.” I started noticing changes to my body after a few weeks and it added lighter fluid to the fire. I always try to Shred four to five times a week, and I actually plan my schedule around classes.
One year and eight months later, and 40 pounds lighter, Shred415 has helped me get my groove back. I have better self-esteem. I have confidence. I’m finally happy with me. I no longer hide in the dark corner. I go where the fans take me. My new ending warm up pace is 4.8-5 (depending on the inclines).
I’m going to end up saying that all the STL instructors are awesome, but I would really like to thank Ryan Weitzel. He motivates me to push harder and go farther in each of his classes and I always end on empty. Thank you Shred415 for helping me get my life back.
