In the year since we started taking class, we have each dropped nearly 20 pounds and two jean sizes!
We are Lauren and Chelsea, and while we are best friends, cousins, and roommates, we have always approached fitness differently. It wasn’t until we started Shred415 that our fitness journeys finally synced, and we have not looked back since!
Lauren: I have always considered myself to be an active person. Having grown up dancing and working out regularly, I assumed I had good grasp on what it means to be “fit.” Like many women however, time management and life challenges eventually crept in, and in the Fall of 2016, after having completed my first marathon, I found myself to be the heaviest I had ever been. I realized I needed a change in direction to jumpstart my health back onto a positive path.
Chelsea: I stayed active throughout high school and college by playing sports, but after graduation, exercise was no longer a priority for me. After moving in with Lauren, I realized that it was time to make a change. Lauren helped me see that working out could be a new way to invest in myself, and so I joined a local gym. I struggled to find a routine that motivated me. It turns out I needed the same change in direction that Lauren was seeking.
Our Shred story started just over one year ago. At the beginning of 2017, Lauren tried her first Shred415 class, and she knew right away that it was something special. On Valentine’s Day, Lauren brought Chelsea to class as her “plus one” and the rest is history—we were hooked! Armed with a workout buddy and built-in accountability, we regularly attended classes together in the early hours, sometimes up to 3 to 4 times per week. Runs became easier, and weights became heavier. Week by week, our paths converged, and we knew we were headed in the right direction, together.
Although the physical results have been rewarding, we have both gained a passion for exercise that we never had before, which has impacted our lives dramatically. Shred415 showed us the power of community by pushing us to new limits through the support of the incredible instructors and fellow Shredders. Our bond is unbreakable, and we love sharing Shred41 S’s impact on our lives with friends and family.
