My Shred415 journey began on August 17, 2018– A day I now consider to be one of the best days of my life.
I am a stay-at-home mom with three kids ages 2 to 10, and prior to taking my first Shred415 class, I battled postpartum depression. My postpartum depression greatly affected my ability to enjoy my life. I didn’t want to leave my house, and I constantly cried throughout the days; I didn’t know where to turn.
One day last summer, I dragged myself out of my house, so the kids could play with their neighbor friends. I was chatting with the other moms, and I decided to be honest. I opened up about my struggles and asked them to not give up on asking us to do things. I wanted to get better, and I explained that I was not avoiding them, I was hurting.
A few days later, my neighbor Kori reached out to me and invited me to a Shred415 class. Since the day I met Kori, I saw her as this amazing, beautiful person inside and out. She was always so genuine, kind, and not to mention she was in INCREDIBLE shape. I asked her what her secret was, and without any hesitation, she said SHRED!! Before I knew it, we were scheduled for our first class on Wednesday, but I snuck in a few days before on my own because I was nervous, and I needed to check this out for myself.
Well, I went to that class, and when I got home, I immediately told my husband that I found what I had been looking for. I kept my class with Kori on Wednesday and shortly after that, I signed up for a #ShredChallenge. The challenge made attending class part of my routine. After just a few weeks, I started to see results. Maybe the results weren’t on my body yet, but they were definitely inside of me.
The first week, when I was still battling my depression, I would cry the whole way there in the car and sometimes even during my workout. Then, I would just release all my tears when I would get into the car after class. I was literally letting go of all the stress, anger, fear, anxiety, and emotions I had been building up for years.
Shred415 gave me my life back.
After months of Shredding, I am down from a size 10 to a size 6. I feel strong; I feel like an athlete. I still have a long way to go to reach some of my goals, but I am loving every part of the journey. What’s not to love? The instructors and other Shredders are such wonderful people! Bonnie and Tracy have really done something special, and I feel honored to be apart of it.
We are all working hard to fight our own battles. After battling postpartum depression for so long, I can confidently say that with the help of Shred415, I once again have the ability to love my family, my husband, and most importantly, myself. Thank you Shred415!
