Since May 2018, I have lost almost 40 pounds! My confidence is through the roof, and I love being part of the Shred415 community.
In May of 2018, I was approaching my 40th birthday. I’d just returned from a girls’ trip to Mexico, and while looking through photographs of the trip, I noticed something. While I have always been a confident person on the inside, this confidence was no longer shining through, and I knew I had to make some changes.
I am the mother to four children ages 10, 7, 7, and 3—and when you do the math, pretty much for the last 10 years of my life, I have been pregnant. It was easy for me to blame my weight gain on pregnancies, but with my youngest child turning 3 years old, this excuse was no longer working for me. That’s when I found other places to point the blame. I decided that it must be my thyroid. It wasn’t. Maybe it was a gluten intolerance? Nope.
My weight gain was a result of my choices.
So I made a new choice: accountability. I made a commitment to find a new workout that could keep me motivated to lose the weight. In the past, I could take a boxing class here, a spin class there—I could even run every now and then. But I knew I needed something more. I needed more than a workout. That’s when I found Shred415.
On May 23, I took my first class with Mark. It was a full room, and although I was a little intimidated, I was ready. I found a spot in the dark back corner, and I just did it! The class was amazing: great music, energy, and super challenging. I was hooked! I left thinking I could do this every day, but I quickly realized that rest and recovery would be key to remaining healthy. I have found that 4 to 5 times per week is perfect for me, and as the story goes, I left my regular traditional gym for Shred415.
I love the mix of cardio and weights and the fact that no two classes are ever the same. The teachers change, the music changes, the structure of the class changes, and most importantly, my body has changed as well. Since May 2018, I have lost almost 40 pounds! My confidence is through the roof, and I love being part of the Shred415 community. I still take Mark’s class every Wednesday—but not in the dark back corner anymore. I rock the first deck in the room and the first treadmill. I’m a Shredder!
