My struggle with my weight first started when I entered a graduate program in Kansas City in 2006. Because of such a demanding schedule, my health took a backseat, and by the time I graduated in 2011, I weighed over 260 pounds. It was extremely hard to break the bad habits that I created during graduate school, but I knew I had to do something to get my life back. I tried different diets, but I was never fully committed to any of them. As a result, my weight fluctuated. I also tried different types of workouts/gyms, but there was nothing that kept me motivated to keep going. I always started strong, but inevitably would fall back into the same old habits. I was searching for something more.
Shred415 was on my way to work, and I always wondered what it was as I passed by, so one day I decided to go check it out. I didn’t know it then, but deciding to “check it out” was the best decision I ever made. I was looking for more; I was looking for something to which I could fully commit, something that I would stick with this time. Well, I found it!
Once I started attending Shred415 regularly, the pounds started to come off, and unlike my prior diets or workouts, I had no intention of stopping! I lost over 100 pounds and never looked back. All the instructors are extremely motivating, and the workouts are always challenging.
Not only have I lost weight, but I have also gained so much strength and endurance that I can now run 5 miles without any problems. I can’t wait to reach my 415th class soon. I will continue my journey with Shred415 until I reach my goal– I’m not done yet! Thanks to everyone at Shred415, I couldn’t do this without you!
