The end result came after one year and 100+ Shred415 classes: I have lost a total of 50 pounds, and l am in the best shape of my life.
I took my first Shred415 class on July 22, 2017. My friends Lauren and Chloe were avid Shredders, and as Shredders often do, they repeatedly asked me to join them. You can only say “but I’m not a runner” so many times before no one wants to hear it, and with the assurance that I could take the class at my own pace, I mustered up the courage to go. I was terrified to say the least, but I pushed myself to just keep moving through class, and I made it! Part of me thought, “I’m never doing this again,” but there was another part of me that wondered, “what will happen if I do?” I didn’t know it then, but the answer was clear: my life will change forever.
I visited the doctor right around this time, and I discovered I was the heaviest I’d ever been. This sealed the deal for me. It was time to make changes to my lifestyle. Unhealthy habits had become the norm. I had a stressful job, and I turned to eating junk regularly. I skipped workouts (which didn’t bother me because I loathed them anyway), and these unhealthy habits caused me to gain a ton of weight. After that appointment, I fully committed myself to a new lifestyle, which included going back to Shred415 more frequently and changing what I was putting into my body. I haven’t looked back since.
I have always had a goal of completing a triathlon. Shred415 gave me the strength and confidence to not only sign up but to complete my first Triathlon in August of 2018. For helping me complete this lifelong goal – and for all the other positives it’s brought into my life – I’m beyond grateful. It has required hard work and a lot of determination, but the welcoming environment, the amazing instructors, and the inspiration I feel in each and every class is unmatched to any workout I’ve done before. Shred415 truly changed my fitness routine for the better. I no longer loathe working out, in fact, I love it!
Thanks to the Shred415 instructors for pushing me through every workout, and thanks to my friends Lauren and Chloe for taking me to my first class. I turn 27 years old this month, and in looking back on this past year, it’s difficult to remember my life before walking through the doors of my first class. I can’t imagine a time when I didn’t get excited about my workouts, when I didn’t feel this amazing, when I didn’t feel this strong, when I didn’t feel like a rockstar. I only want to continue this feeling, this year and beyond!
