Agnese’s POV:
Our family’s love for Shred415 started in October 2021 with me asking my niece, Kat, “How can we spend more time together?” Kat immediately replied, “Work out with me!”
I was looking to add weights to my workouts, so I thought, “Why not?” Kat invited me to go to Shred415 with her. The music was loud, the instructor was energetic, the people were kind, Arms & Abs were my jam, I was spending time with Kat … I was hooked! Our quality time together has resulted in us celebrating our 100th, 200th, and 300th classes together! Keeping up with her hasn’t always been easy, but definitely worth it. She now works at the front desk at Shred415 Louisville.
In May 2022, we convinced my daughter, Caroline, to join us. She was home from Transylvania University, and as a swimmer, was looking for summer workouts other than swimming. Like me, she was instantly hooked thanks to the welcoming nature of the staff and instructors. She enjoys the variety of classes Shred415 offers, as well as the friendship and support she receives from the community.
We eventually talked my sons, Daniel and Ben, into giving Shred415 a try in September 2022. They are more of the gym rat types, but we knew if they tried it, they would love it. Daniel was looking to add cardio to his fitness regime and like the rest of us, it did not take long for him to start shredding four to five times a week. He appreciates the constant challenges, both mental and physical, and the amazing community. Ben is always up to adding something new to his fitness plan and competing with Daniel on the “Shredmills”. Ben married Kasey on New Year’s Eve, which meant a move to Louisville. Lucky for us, she enjoyed physical activity, so naturally we invited her to Shred with us. We knew she would love Shred415 as much as we did and we were right! She and Ben started Shredding on a regular basis just four days after their wedding. Moving to a new city can be challenging, so I am thankful Kasey has the Shred415 community to support her and that she loves working out with her new family.
Although it is hard to coordinate our work and school schedules, we strive to Shred together on Thursdays and have dinner together after class. There is nothing better than spending time with family and sharing our love for fitness … even when we travel! This summer we went to St. Louis and selected our hotel based on the Shred415 location. We managed to squeeze in two classes.
As a Mom, I am so proud of their decisions to make health and fitness a priority. I am beyond grateful to Shred415 for providing us with a space where we feel comfortable regardless of our speeds on the treads or the amount of weights we select. At Shred415, we laugh, we support, we encourage, we compete, we comfort, and we set an example for those around us. Our time together is simply priceless!
Thank you, Shred415, for welcoming us, challenging us, loving us and ALWAYS celebrating us!
