Hear from our star-crossed Shredders, Amy and Jamie Feldheim, as Amy shares their journey from sharing a deck and tread to marriage.
“Fitness has always been a huge part of my life. As a long-time fitness instructor, I never imagined that a workout routine would lead me to my soulmate. But the universe had a plan, and it all started at Shred415.
When Shred415 came to Louisville in the spring of 2019, I fell in love with the challenging workouts and the supportive energy of the community. I quickly started racking up classes, miles, calories burned, steps, and Whoos. It became my new obsession.
Jamie moved to Louisville from Chicago in October 2019 for a career opportunity, choosing the Baxter Apartments on a whim because he liked the pictures online. The gym attached to it, Shred, was a nice bonus. Looking to meet people in a new city—and with it being just a two-minute walk away—he joined Shred415.
We worked out at Shred for a few years, navigating the pandemic, but it wasn’t until we started sharing deck and tread 13 that we really noticed each other. For months, we exchanged smiles, winks, and fist bumps—but nothing more. I was secretly waiting for him to ask me out.
Finally, in December 2021, Jamie got the hint and asked me out. From that first date, we were inseparable. What started as casual workout partners quickly turned into something much deeper.
Jamie proposed to me on September 16, 2023, in a moment we’ll never forget. We celebrated with a Shred415 workout on the deck and tread where we met, followed by a party with our Shred family, who have been incredibly supportive throughout our journey.
Originally, we had planned a beautiful elopement in Asheville for the end of September 2024. But when Hurricane Helene hit, it threw our plans off course. After being trapped in Asheville for three days and safely returning home, we decided to marry where it all started—at home, in our backyard. Surrounded by the people who have supported us, including our Shred415 family, it was the perfect celebration.
More than three years after that first date, Jamie and I are still hitting the decks and treads nearly every day. I’ve now completed over 1,100 classes, Jamie has done more than 800, and together, we’ve taken around 600 classes. Shred415 has been so much more than a place to stay fit—it’s where we found each other, built a community, and created countless memories.
Shred415 truly lives up to its motto: “More Than a Workout.” It’s where our love story began, and where we’ve continued to grow together, both as individuals and as a couple. We’re forever grateful for the journey we’ve shared with this community. Thank you, Amy and Jamie, for showing us that Shred415 is more than a workout. It is a place where love, community, and strength come together.
