I started Shred415 University Ridge during the opening week of free classes in 2019. I was looking for a new fitness program at the time to help me continue my wellness journey. I survived having a stroke in 2017, after a car accident a few months prior. The year I began Shred415 I wanted to focus more on self-care and accomplishing goals for myself. I am a mother of three beautiful daughters who witness me powering through adversity every time I push myself to be better. My daily work includes being a Licensed Mental Health Therapist, part-time Wellness Coach, an author and poet.
With my busy schedule, I take the 5am Express classes. Joy Howard and Amy Sutter really know how to train, motivate and inspire. I have been able to accomplish running at a 9.0 from starting at a 2.0 ending warm-up pace. I can lift heavier weights and do more reps. The staff at Shred415 has become like family to me. We have shared many laughs and triumphs and they’ve supported me through some of my most difficult life adjustments. I have been able to stay focused on my wellness journey while dealing with my marriage ending during a pandemic, health trials of my own and my mom having several near-death experiences.
Shred415 is my outlet to focus just on myself and my goals while turning off what’s going on in the rest of the world. I am looking forward to being in the best shape of my life when I turn 42 this April. I love what I have been able to accomplish and will continue to accomplish for myself at Shred415.
