I’ve never really struggled with my weight until I had three children back-to-back. They’re now 9, 8, and 6. After my first pregnancy, 10 years before the other three, I didn’t have trouble ‘bouncing back.’Busy with three young children, I didn’t feel like I ever had the time to focus on losing weight. I was inconsistently doing quick at-home workouts, and they weren’t doing the trick. Once we decided we were done having kids, I decided to commit to adding fitness in my routine. In 2018, my youngest daughter and I started working out at home together to kick start my weight loss journey. I realized quickly that working out at home was just not going to be the move for me. Around this same time, I was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism.Once I was loaded with that information and properly treated, my doctor informed me that people who have hypothyroidism can sometimes have a harder time losing weight because of slower thyroid function. I was committed to overcoming this instead of just treating it and did tons of research. In 2020, when Covid-19 was at its peak, I decided it was time to look into different workouts outside of my home. I tried everything from pilates to Orange Theory, BeachBody to P90X. If there was a workout out, I was willing to try it. I even changed my diet and nothing was working; I was growing frustrated. In 2021, I saw one of my friends post about Shred415 on her Instagram and I was shocked I didn’t know about this place. I quickly went for the three day trial and was hooked. I was so inspired by the atmosphere and instructors. I won’t lie, the beginning was rough. I told myself it was too hard. I walked at an incline for almost a year before I felt comfortable running. But one day I stepped on the scale and couldn’t believe what I saw. When my clothes started to feel big and people asked me what I was doing differently, it was clear that this new addition into my routine was paying off. Now, I’m racing towards 250 classes and I just PR’d at 3.72 miles running in class! It’s crazy. I never thought I’d be a person excited to workout. But Shred415 has changed all of that. It was never really about the number on the scale, it’s always been about just feeling good again and feeling confident and strong. I’ve always just wanted to feel confident in my own skin again.
